This stunning, sophisticated and hand-blown lead crystal decanter was created in 2014 as a tribute to the Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac. The inside of the decanter is decorated with a black stripe that transitions into the profile of a horse's head. The concave shape of the decanter helps aerate the wine. After pouring the wine, we recommend gently shaking the decanter until a thin layer of bubbles appears on the surface, which helps to oxygenate the wine and bring out the flavour profile of the variety.

Christian Moueix's reflection essay on decantation:

"Personally, I prefer decanting for both young and more mature wines. In the case of mature wines, decanting is an expression of respect; in the case of young wines, it is an expression of trust. Decanting mature wines shortly before serving ensures that the colour and clarity are not impaired by sediments that have formed in the wine during storage. Decanting young wines a few hours before serving will give the wine the opportunity to develop its bouquet, to acquire a degree of maturity that it would otherwise only achieve with years of storage."
