The seductive Mamba decanter, designed directly by Maximilian J. Riedelem resembles the shape of the snake of the same name. As the wine flows through each fold it is decanted twice. This ensures the same effect as after hours of decanting in a regular decanter. The upright position and the power of the famous black mamba transferred to the glass form creates many air pockets that directly charge the wine during pouring into the glasses. As the wine flows through the curves, the Mamba emits a gurgling sound that is the auditory accompaniment to the decanting process as the wine passes through the vacuum created in the base of the Mamba decanter.

"Personally, I prefer decanting for both young and more mature wines. In the case of mature wines, decanting is an expression of respect; in the case of young wines, it is an expression of trust. Decanting mature wines shortly before serving ensures that the colour and clarity are not impaired by sediments that have formed in the wine during storage. Decanting young wines a few hours before serving will give the wine the opportunity to develop its bouquet, to acquire a degree of maturity that it would otherwise only achieve with years of storage."
