The ENGESVIK kitchen table cloth is made of 100% Egyptian cotton, which is considered the finest weaving material in the world. The combination of Scandinavian modern design and classic weaving craft is what gives the tablecloth its uniqueness. It is created in the workshop of a highly respected designer, who is Andreas Engesvik. The unique, high-quality material is easily washable and can withstand temperatures to 60 °C.

Thanks to the special non-staining treatment, table cloth does not need to be washed frequently. Spilled liquids such as coffee or red wine, for example, can be easily vacuumed up with a paper napkin, dried mustard or ketchup stains can be dusted off and table cloth remains clean. Pencil marks or the dreaded oil stains can be removed by washing in a suitable detergent.

Production technology:

Damask Georg Jensen Damask is produced by complex technological processing from 100% combed long-staple and mercerized cotton. By dyeing the yarns before they are woven, a much higher quality and more durable colour is achieved than if the finished fabric were dyed. The softening and combing of the cotton then gives the fabric its softness. Jacquard weaving and high thread density allow the production of very complex and plastic patterns.

Even after decades of use, they retain their beautiful shine and pleasant feel. Nowadays, thanks to modern modifications, maintenance of the damask is easy. Just wash and hang. When properly dried, it does not even require subsequent ironing.

Advice and tips for maintenance:

• Wash coloured cotton products separately the first time. The first two washes must be washed at 60 °C to fix the colours (according to the instructions on the label). You can then wash on a lower temperature.
• Do not use fabric softeners or bleaching agents.
• Wash textiles unfolded and do not overfill the washing machine.
• Wash your clothes in a washing machine with a maximum setting of 800 rpm.
• After washing, gently pull out. If possible, dry in the normal way.
• The products can withstand drying in the dryer. However, we recommend the more environmentally friendly conventional drying, which also extends the life of the fabrics.
