WMF – the brand with over 170 years of tradition in quality

WMF – how has it all started

WMF brand has been known for its quality for over 170 years. Its history started in 1853, when the mill owner Daniel Straub, together with the Schweizer brothers, established the Straub & Schweizer metal works in Geislingen. In 1862, Straub & Schweizer silver-plated tableware and serving dishes were awarded medals of distinction at the Great London Exposition and in 1868 the first store was founded in Berlin. In 1880, the company merged with Metallwarenfabrik Ritter & Co. to form the company Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF), with its headquarters in Geislingen.

WMF - company’s principles

WMF brand always strives to capture the trends of the times and to stand out from its competition without losing sight of the company’s DNA. WMF has always been loyal to the company’s principles: the design and production and sale of modern, quality products with a high practical value.
